A note to new readers

I've been writing for the screen since 1999. I moved from Seattle to Hollywood in November of 2004. Three of my five screenplays are making the rounds.
My latest comedy, FALSE SECURITY, took 2nd place in the WriteSafe.com contest for the third quarter of 2005.
I wrote, produced, and directed a short film titled, Memoir.
I gained representation as a screenwriter in 2006.

New sensations

My manager (and I still get a kick out of that phrase applying to me) and I, we'll call her M, were supposed to meet today. We didn't meet for a very good reason: M was too busy. She spent the whole day getting through to people she hadn't been able to reach for months. And the best part is she was talking to many of those people about FEAR OF THUNDER and a healthy percentage of those folks want to read it! And that is a very new sensation.

I just found out Blake Snyder is blogging. He and the Cat are going big guns and they've become globetrotting celebs.

The patented Blake Snyder Beat Sheet is available on his Tools page along with other cool stuff. And if the book isn't enough, check out the good doctor's brand new Save the Cat! software. I hear it makes a great stocking stuffer for the yuletide season.

I'm truly happy for Blake's success but a little concerned about how much competition he's creating. I don't know if I can dig my ditch any faster.

But seriously, I see it this way: The proverbial cream will eventually rise to the top. Tools like Blake's just speed up the process. And if you're wondering if I consider myself on the proverbial ride to the surface of the metaphorical whey, I'm honestly not sure at the moment. But if I am destined to rise I hope it happens before things get too curdlie. We'll see.
