A note to new readers
I've been writing for the screen since 1999. I moved from Seattle to Hollywood in November of 2004. Three of my five screenplays are making the rounds.
My latest comedy, FALSE SECURITY, took 2nd place in the WriteSafe.com contest for the third quarter of 2005.
I wrote, produced, and directed a short film titled, Memoir.
I gained representation as a screenwriter in 2006.

... the inevitable.
First, in the plus column: My latest short story,
The Princess and the King will appear in
Thuglit's issue 13 and I get a a t-shirt!
That's about it for good news. That leaves the phone call I got last Sunday. I'm still ambivalent about quoting my caller: It's a biz-related issue and any salient quote would sound like libel. I'm truly concerned that readers would decide I'd invented the conversation to illicit sympathy for myself, incite indignation toward the caller, or both.
Suffice it to say I had the temerity to disagree with a statement made by the caller, whereupon the caller proceeded to verbally eviscerate me. A heated vis-à-vis with Eragon's decidedly-bitchy dragon would have left me feeling less scathed all over. I discussed the call with M. She thinks it's a sign of progress--a perverse twist on Aesop's fox, if you will. I wish I could be that up-beat.
