A note to new readers

I've been writing for the screen since 1999. I moved from Seattle to Hollywood in November of 2004. Three of my five screenplays are making the rounds.
My latest comedy, FALSE SECURITY, took 2nd place in the WriteSafe.com contest for the third quarter of 2005.
I wrote, produced, and directed a short film titled, Memoir.
I gained representation as a screenwriter in 2006.

I got such a kick out of Thuglit's email I just had to share it. Thuglit.com is the first site I've been published on that I feel comfortable recommending. The writing is on harsh and gritty subjects and sometimes the writers use "bad words" but if that doesn't bother you I suggest a read for issue 13.

I was pleased to see that The Princess and the King was actually edited but in a very gentle and complimentary way. I find it flattering that a fellow writer-as-editor took the time to read my work carefully enough to make constructive tweaks. Yes Billy, there is goodness in the world.

There's an update on my February 22 posting: The caller I wrote about sent an email to M telling her what a naughty client I was. She doesn't agree, which is all that counts. But I was truly saddened by the fact that anyone in the Town would become such a vindictive yutz over so little provocation. We weren't even talking about my screenplay. All I had to do was disagree with him on their business model, such as it is, and POW!

Anyway, on the pleasant side: M has another meeting in the works for us with a director she speaks of very highly. We could meet as soon as this weekend. He wants to talk to us about FEAR OF THUNDER and/or an assignment gig. We would have met by now but he's been on set daily since late January. I'm keeping my eyes crossed.

In the meantime I've been farting around a lot, jotting random story notes and watching cinema whenever possible. Works for me.
