A note to new readers
I've been writing for the screen since 1999. I moved from Seattle to Hollywood in November of 2004. Three of my five screenplays are making the rounds.
My latest comedy, FALSE SECURITY, took 2nd place in the WriteSafe.com contest for the third quarter of 2005.
I wrote, produced, and directed a short film titled, Memoir.
I gained representation as a screenwriter in 2006.

I just received the following email:
Hi David,
My name is Warren and I run a screenwriting website called screenwriting-for-hollywood.com.
I came across your site while searching information on screenwriting blogs, and I was impressed by your knowledge and experience on the subject.
I think my readers would love to learn more about you; would you be open to an interview with us?
If so, we can send you 5 to 10 questions by email, and you can send them back at your convenience.
Your answers can be brief and it shouldn't take up much of your time. In return for this interview, we'd let you plug your website and anything else that might benefit our readers.
Please let me know what you think.
I look forward to working with you and hope you'd like to participate. Thanks for your time and have a great week.
Warren

My reply was:
Hello Warren,
I'm afraid my blog left you with a mistaken impression. I'm no longer pursuing a Hollywood career. I'm a failed screenwriter and no longer an aspiring writer of any kind. When the TV deal I last wrote about went to shit I decided I'd had enough. I haven't regretted the decision so far. I know I tried as hard as I could for as long as I was able. I also decided to leave my blog up as an information source and an object lesson for others. Now I realize I need to make one more post to tie up Act III, as it were.
Anyway, thanks for your interest and I'm truly sorry I can't help you out.
David
